  • Refreshments: Add an Afternoon Tea, Cream Tea or a Bacon Roll & a Hot Drink and collect at our café to take on board the train with you.
  • Drinks: Add a 20cl prosecco to your booking for only £6.50 (18+)
  • Food: A selection of takeaway options, including baguettes, sandwiches, pasties, snacks, cakes and drinks are available from our cafe at Norchard Station.
  • Booking: Advanced booking is highly recommended, as spaces are incredibly limited.
  • Accessibility: We regret that the first class saloon is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Seating: The Hawksworth Inspection Coach can seat a maximum of 20 passengers across two saloons.
  • Dogs: Dogs (except assistance dogs) are unable to travel on board the first class coach.

First Class Steam Train Ride & Exclusive Tour of the Line!

Would you like to know more about the history of the Dean Forest Railway? If yes, why not join us for a guided tour of the line with Ian Pope, author of numerous books covering the Forest of Dean, including the highly regarded Severn and Wye series.

The loco for your tour will be Didcot’s No. 1340 ‘Trojan’, and the tour will be held in the comfort of our BR(W) Inspection Saloon.

The tour will start from Norchard, proceeding to Lydney Junction when the loco will run round – an ideal opportunity to have a closer look at the loco on a rare visit away from Didcot. The tour will then continue to Parkend, where the loco will run round again before the train returns to Norchard.
