Heritage Diesel Railcar Train Ride Through Dean Forest!

Enjoy a relaxing journey along the Dean Forest Railway on board our heritage diesel railcar, available on all Wednesdays from August until 4th November (for weekends check out our Steam Train Rides and our Heritage Diesel Train Rides). Looking for something a little extra? Add a takeaway cream tea to your trip when placing your booking, available for pickup from Whistles Cafe before your train ride.

Please note that we have made changes to how we would usually run things – please check out our COVID-19 Statement for full information on what changes we’ve made to ensure compliance.

From Monday 14th September 2020, the new ‘rule of 6’ will be in place.

Mixed households may sit together in one booking. Please note that seating on our heritage diesel railcar is a maximum of 5 passengers due to the seating layout. For larger groups you will need to make more than one booking (note: booking minimum is 2, so if booking for 6 you may want to book 3 and 3, or 4 and 2, not 5 and 1).

As per the government guidelines, you should avoid social interaction with anyone outside the group you are with, even if you see other people you know (note, by group we mean either one household/social bubble* or maximum of 6, including all children, from mixed households).

*Definition of a support bubble from the website:

‘A support bubble is a close support network between a household with only one adult in the home (known as a single-adult household) and one other household of any size.

This is called making a ‘support bubble’.

Once you’re in a support bubble, you can think of yourself as being in a single household with people from the other household. It means you can have close contact with that household as if they were members of your own household.

Once you make a support bubble, you should not change who is in your bubble.’
