DMU Flyer – Norchard-Parkend Return

A selection of other takeaway options, including baguettes, sandwiches, pasties, snacks, cakes and drinks are also available from our cafe at Norchard Station.
  • Booking: Advanced booking is highly recommended, as spaces are limited.
  • Accessibility: Our stations and steam trains are fully wheelchair accessible. Contact us before booking to ensure we know you require the space, and also to get information on our carer's discount.
  • Dogs: Dogs are welcome to travel on this train at a cost of £1.

Diesel Multiple Unit Train Ride Through Dean Forest!

Enjoy a relaxing journey along the Dean Forest Railway, sampling what we have to offer with a return journey along half the line at half the normal price! Looking for something a little extra? Add a takeaway bacon roll, sausage bap or sausage & bacon baguette with a hot drink, available for pickup from Whistles Cafe before your train ride.

Trains depart Norchard Station (GL15 4ET) on the hour (first departure at 10:00, last at 15:00), with the return from Parkend departing at half past the hour (first at 10:30, last at 15:30). Tickets allow you to either stay on the train for the 45 minute return trip, or travel from Norchard to Parkend and return on a later train, or travel for longer throughout the day if you want to.

Please get in touch before booking if you are looking to do the trip the other way around (Parkend-Norchard return) – please note that there is no parking available at Parkend Station, whereas Norchard Station has a large, free car park.

Don’t forget to visit our shop, museum and cafe at Norchard Station, which are open all day (although the cafe closes after the last trip departs).
