Timetables
The ‘Steam & DMU’ timetable will operate on all Wednesdays from 22nd July until 26th August, plus Wednesday 27th May and the weekend of 27th & 28th June, with the standard timetable operating on all other available steam days.

Getting Here
Rail
The DFR’s Lydney Junction station is less than a 5-minute walk away from the mainline Lydney station. Through trains run to Lydney from Birmingham, Nottingham, Derby, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Chepstow, Newport, Cardiff and Bridgend, operated by either Transport for Wales or Cross Country Trains. Our standard timetable links with many of the services.
Please note that all timed tickets (such as ‘Steam Train Ride’ tickets) are from Norchard Station – if you had wanted to arrive by train and board at Lydney Junction you would need to purchase a day rover ticket (please check availability of day rovers before coming, as on busier days, such as Wednesdays during the summer, they may not be available).
Bus
Until the end of August, the number 23 Stagecoach bus offers a direct service from Gloucester to Lydney Bus Station, a short walk from our Lydney Town station or 1 mile from Norchard Station. From September onward a direct service to Norchard will be available.
From Chepstow the number 72 bus runs to Lydney Bus Station.
